Through short talks\, a fireside chat and a lively panel discussion\, participants will explore the art of translating complex ideas into engaging stories for wide audiences. \nFeatured authors include: \n\nPatchen Barss science journalist and author of The Impossible Man: Roger Penrose and the Cost of Genius and Flow Spin Grow: Looking for Patterns in Nature.\nAnthony Bonato (Toronto Metropolitan University)\, mathematician and author of Dots and Lines\, which explores the hidden networks of social media\, AI\, and nature.\nEugenia Cheng (School of the Art Institute of Chicago)\, mathematician\, pianist\, and bestselling author of How to Bake Pi and Unequal\, known for making mathematics accessible to all.\nNoah Giansiracusa (Bentley University)\, mathematician and author of How Algorithms Create and Prevent Fake News and Robin Hood Math\, examining the role of math in society.\nSiobhan Roberts\, science journalist and biographer\, acclaimed for works such as Genius at Play and King of Infinite Space\, which bring the lives of mathematicians to a broad readership.\nPaulina Rowińska  (author of Mapmatics: How We Navigate the World Through Numbers)\, mathematician\, and journalist at Quanta Magazine.\nKyne Santos\, drag queen\, educator\, and math communicator\, author of Math in Drag\, and a well known creator of popular math content on TikTok and YouTube.\n\nThe fireside chats will be moderated by Autumn Phaneuf\, engineer\, science communicator\, host of the Breaking Math podcast\, and CEO of Breaking Math Media. This hybrid event will take place both in person and online\, with a livestream available via Zoom to connect audiences around the world.
